Itinerary

DAY 1: GASTRONOMIC TOUR – PERUVIAN MARKET AND COOKING CLASSES

Tour duration: Approximately 3 ½ hours, departure times at 11:00 am

This exciting tour gives you the opportunity to explore the best of Peruvian cuisine and fully immerse yourself in it.

Pick up at your Hotel: Start the day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Our transportation and guide team will pick you up between 9:15 am and 9:45 am It is essential to be in the hotel lobby at least 10 minutes in advance to avoid delays. The exact pickup time will be coordinated in advance via email or phone.

Peruvian Market: Our exciting gastronomic adventure begins in a typical “Peruvian market.” Here you can marvel at the wide variety of Peruvian products and unique fruits, such as cherimoya, lucuma, aguaymanto and pacay. In addition, you will be surprised by the diversity of fruits that our sea offers us, considered one of the richest in the world.

Cooking Classes: Then, we will go to the exclusive restaurant “La Rosa Náutica”, where you will learn how to prepare the emblematic drink of Peru, the famous “Pisco Sour”, and the delicious and unmatched “Ceviche”.

Lunch: After the cooking classes, you will have the pleasure of enjoying an exquisite lunch that will include the most representative dishes of Peruvian gastronomy.

This gastronomic tour will take you to explore the flavors and products that make Peruvian food famous around the world. It will be a culinary experience that you will not forget.

Listen to your guide’s comments about the great importance of local markets to the Peruvian population today. You’ll have a little extra time to help local producers by doing some shopping of your own.

Next, head to a local restaurant where your guide will talk to you about various points of interest as you pass by. In the restaurant’s professional kitchen, you’ll take part in a hands-on cooking class taught by an expert instructor. Learn about the history and preparation of Peruvian dishes while you cook them.

Create traditional Peruvian dishes from scratch such as lomo saltado (grilled), ceviche (fresh fish marinated in citrus and a variety of local ingredients), causa limeña (potato dish), and pisco (national cocktail of Peru made with distilled spirits, egg whites and fresh citrus juice).

Once you’ve finished preparing everything, sit back and enjoy food and a cocktail with your new friends. The tour ends when you are taken back to your hotel or the port around 2:00 p.m.
