Itinerary Lima Night Tour
DAY 1: Night Tour of the Historic Center of Lima
Our exciting nighttime adventure will begin around 6:20 p.m., when we pick you up at your hotel in Lima. We will head towards the heart of the historic center to enjoy its splendor, with its churches, colonial and republican mansions, squares and convents, all spectacularly illuminated to give you an unforgettable experience.
The historic center of Lima is home to various squares and churches that tell fascinating stories. We will begin at Plaza San Martín, founded in honor of the liberator Don José de San Martín on the centenary of Peru’s independence in 1921. Next, we will explore the Plaza Mayor, which houses colonial mansions and emblematic buildings, including the impressive Lima Cathedral with its baroque style façade and the Government Palace, which was once the residence of Pizarro, the founder of the city of Lima.
We will continue our journey towards the Church of San Pedro, which will welcome us with its majestic neoclassical façade. We will have the opportunity to explore its interior and admire its beautiful altarpieces and canvases, including works painted by the Italian Bernardo Bitti .
Another gem that we will visit will be the Church of Santo Domingo, a 16th century temple that will open its doors to us to explore its impressive altarpieces, the choir and its convent. Here, we can visit the chapter house, which was the first headquarters of the University of San Marcos, the oldest in America. We can also admire the chapel of San Martín de Porres, the place where this Peruvian saint had his cell.
Our tour will last approximately 3 hours and will end with your return to your hotel.
